Spooky season is creeping up really quick and what better way to kick off the season than with a boo basket for your little one?
Spooky season is the best season. Hands down. No further questions!
We love fall, you just *feel* the magic in the air! We try to do ALL the things! October is definitely fun and jammed pack with holiday activities.
The best way to kick it all off? A “spooky basket”.. or occasions bin!
This post is all about boo basket ideas!
What is a boo basket?
Basically, a basket full of fun goodies to get your little ones excited and in the Halloween spirit! Different people may call it something different. Halloween basket, boo basket, spooky basket, etc!
How do I make a boo basket?
It’s super easy to throw together! Grab a basket or bin of sorts (Can be Halloween related or not!) and pick up a few fun Halloween items that will spark the holiday spirit. Next, neatly display them in the basket, add a few fun elements like pennants or cute filler and then present it to your little one!
When do you give a boo basket?
There are no rules of course but I like to give it on October 1st. Secretly, we get into the spirit around September but this is the way we officially kick things off!
I feel like it’s better to give this basket sooner rather than later. That way they have enough time to fully enjoy all their goodies before Halloween arrives!
What do you put in a boo basket?
Anything and everything spooky season related! This will depend on who you’re giving the basket to, of course!
Here are a few cute ideas for babies, toddlers and kids that I’ve found!
Cute Halloween Baskets
First step to making a boo basket? Choosing a basket! Or bin! Totally your choice! The perk of using a Halloween themed basket is it can double as their candy bucket for trick or treating! Alternatively, if you use a regular bin it can used elsewhere all year long. Can’t go wrong either way, really!
I really like this basket, its super festive and fun without being too over the top and cheesy! Would make an adorable trick or treating bucket, too! If you scroll around on the related section for this item there are a ton of similar baskets with slightly different designs like candy corn and such.
mDesign Metal Wire Storage Bin Basket
I’ve actually seen tons of moms post adorable boo baskets using this exact bin and they’re all Pinterest perfect! It’s available in black or white and the bamboo handles are such a cute touch! If you enjoy making “occasion bins” like boo baskets, 4th of July baskets, etc. then picking up something like this would be perfect to be able to reuse.
