I’m so excited to share this super fun 4th of July basket idea with you today! I decided to call this one the “Red, White & Boom Basket”!
Kinda cheesy, I know haha! Anyway, I’m loving totally loving it and so will the kids!
I plan to pull out this basket while we wait for the big fireworks show. It’s fully stocked so I know this will be a life saver and keep them entertained.

S’more Making Essentials
Okay, I realize this link is for a giant pack of six boxes but truthfully it might be worth it. We can’t be the only ones who let our kids make way too many damn s’mores in the summer lol
Truthfully, I can’t stand these bars.. I much prefer the “special” dark chocolate ones! Anyway, these are an obvious must have!
Lastly, marshmallows of course! Okay, I have very strong opinions when it comes to marshmallows for s’mores! Don’t ever buy those square shaped ones that are supposed to be for s’mores, they are horrible because they’re too big! They make a giant ass mess everywhere and I cannot stand them.. Trust me, stick with with the original!
Adding these as a fun alternative idea! I stumbled across these last Christmas in my local grocery store and picked some up. I can tell you they are very yummy in hot chocolate but I can’t attest to how they work for s’mores.. I’m assuming they might be less messy? I’m not sure! If you’ve tried these before with s’mores please leave me a comment and let me know if they’re worth it, I’m very curious!
The Best Water Balloons Ever
Listen, if you’ve been sleeping on these water balloons because of the price, you’re wrong! I thought the same thing, “not worth that price for friggin water balloons!” but I will gladly admit I was dead ass wrong! These are so easy and so nice to have when it’s hot as heck outside and the kids are whining and you just want a fast way to entertain and cool them off.
Take all my money! Takee itttt!
A Fun Way To Make Popcorn
I realized that for some reason, I’ve never made Jiffy Pop popcorn with my kids! It’s just not something we normally buy so I thought it would be perfect for this basket. They’ll definitely love it, it just makes popcorn way more fun.
Festive Glow Sticks
Glow sticks are another obvious must have for a 4th of July basket! I found mine in the dollar section of Target but of course you can find them anywhere this time of year. I also found these cute little light up flag glow sticks and ordered some to throw in there!
Personal Fireworks
Obviously I cant post any links for these items but these are definitely the best part of 4th of July. They definitely build up the excitement while waiting for the big fireworks.
DIY 4th of July Wands & Pennants
Ahh! Okay my daughter was so dang excited when she saw the wands we actually ended up making more! We used these adorable printable stars and pennants from our June Magic Playbook subscription “bonus”.
I won’t go into too much detail about it here but Magic Playbook is a digital subscription that basically give you a ton of Pinterest worthy printable activities, games and crafts. We absolutely love it. You can hear more about it over on this post if you’re interested.
